ERR_CACHE_MISS
The page needs form data to be resent
Seen in Chrome, Edge ("Confirm Form Resubmission"), Android WebView
The browser was asked to show a page that was the result of a form submission (POST) and it is not in the cache, so it needs to resubmit the form.
Common causes
- Going back or reloading a page that was produced by a POST request.
- The site returns the result page directly from POST instead of redirecting.
- In an Android app using WebView, the app is missing the INTERNET permission.
How to fix it
- Reload and confirm the resubmission only if sending the form again is safe.
- Site owners: use the Post/Redirect/Get pattern, answering a POST with a 303 redirect to a GET page.
- Android developers: add <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET" /> to the manifest.
