ERR_CONNECTION_RESET
The connection was cut off mid-way
Seen in Chrome, Edge (Firefox: PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR)
Something on the path or the server sent a TCP reset, abruptly closing the connection before the page loaded.
Common causes
- A firewall, filter or ISP is blocking the site, often by resetting connections based on the hostname (SNI).
- Antivirus, VPN or proxy software is interfering with the connection.
- The server or load balancer crashed, hit a limit or closed idle connections.
- An MTU problem on a VPN or tunnel drops large packets.
How to fix it
- Try another network or turn off the VPN or proxy to see if the block is local.
- Temporarily disable HTTPS scanning in antivirus to test.
- Check the server and load balancer logs for crashes or connection limits.
- If only large pages fail over a VPN, lower the MTU or enable MSS clamping.
